April 2019

For our program this month, Valerie, lead us through the steps to create a sheep ornament using Lopi yarn, a crochet hook and plastic canvas. We had been given 'homework' at the March meeting so most of us arrive ready to go.
For Show and Share Annie brought a knitted and felted intarsia handbag.

Christine showed us a gnome she had needle felted in a workshop with Saira Jan.
She also had three locker hook projects which could be used as hot pads.

Rosemary showed us a couple of 'twiddle muffs' which are very helpful focusing 'fidgety children' or giving people with dementia or Alzheimer's disease something to occupy their hands.
They are made with bulky, washable yarn and have different things firmly attached to them with give a variety of tactile stimuli. She and other volunteers at Windreach Farm create them for sale in the gift shop.
Dini knit these owl mittens.
Ulla had several dishtowels to show us.
Geri brought in a punch needle piece,

a needlework project bag,

and a knitted, lace baby blanket.
