December 2018

Our potluck luncheon was postponed until January. We had a brief meeting followed by lots of Show and Share items.

Lesley modeled her handknit sweater
and her Saori 'squid' piece.
Jacki showed us the wonderful Christmas card that their dog sitter created featuring her very photogenic dog, Jimmy.
Doesn't he look like a good boy?
Annie showed us one of her earliest woven scarves from a Gemini Fibres workshop,
a wet-felted picture from a workshop with Rosemary Oliver,
and a couple of her handspun and handknit beaded scarves.
Dini brought in one of her handwoven tea towels

and a vintage beaded purse that had belonged to her husband's grandmother
Christine showed us a Santa she had needle-felted in a workshop.
Judy brought in a couple of needle felted characters.
Geri showed off a punch needle piece she had recently completed,
and several cross-stitched ornaments that were recently finished.
Gini spun and dip-dyed a 900 yd skein of corriedale/rambouillet yarn for her sister.
Several needle felting workshops have been organized for the new year within the guild and in conjunction with the Markham Guild. Let Christine know if you are interested in participating in any of them. Geri is happy to conduct a punch needle workshop if there is enough interest.

Our paint chip colour challenge is due in June. Don't delay.
