Challenge 2021 - Rhapsody in Blue

This year's challenge was to create anything blue. As we are not meeting in person, members are sending in photos to be posted on the website.

Eleanor hooked a 9" x 9" mat using about 10 different blue yarns, as well as greens, some dyed with yellow, and derived from blues. 

Dini contributed 3 items:

handknit men's blue mix socks, 

a twill weave wool throw with dyed blue wool, and

a small tapestry using indigo dyed wool.

Margot knitted and felted a wine bag made from the wool that was given to her by a friend who was discontinuing her wool business.

Rosemary dyed her handspun in the microwave,

and knit a shawl.

Gayle knit a blue, raglan pullover with Cascade 220 yarn and the Fibonacci sequence on the sleeves.

Charlotte M wove a runner for her mother with a variegated, space-dyed blue cotton warp and gold cotolin weft in a variation of the Hop Vine pattern.

Judy P wove the table runner using blue wool.

Carol Ann wove a blanket with 6 shades of blue wool and a white wool in a twill pattern. The weft is a blend of white mohair and wool.

Stephanie created a coiled basket from blue sock yarn wound on an electric cord.

Leslie wove a teal blue blanket for her nephew's wedding.

Jacki knit cabled wrist warmer from her hand spun yarn. 

Gini knit a vest from her wool handspun.

Annie used four different blue wools to knit a scarf for her oldest friend's 70th birthday. 

Ulla knit predominantly blue socks.

Judy contributed three blue birds from handspun and dyed, multi blue socks from 'awful WalMart yarn', In the centre is a pattern for a button up vest with handspun yarn and hand dyed with vegetable colour dyes,
