June Pot Luck Meeting

Our June meeting is traditionally a pot luck luncheon. It was held at our meeting place, the Greenwood Community Centre.

One item on the business agenda was presenting Alice Cossey and Pat Pegg lifetime memberships to the guild. They are both founding members.

Here, Judy is presenting them with their certificates.

This year's challenge was to create a piece framed in an 8" x 8" (20cm x 20cm) or 10" x 10" (30cm x 30cm) frame. It is hoped these pieces can be used for public display purposes to promote our guild.

Emma framed two pin loom pieces using her handspun.

Carol Ann dyed the silk background fabric with a marbling process and mounted a starfish on the 'sea' - a special memento of a previous vacation.

Marie displayed a tapestry with several textures and techniques.

Dini's had a natural theme, weaving cedar bark strips and mounting it on a linen fabric.

Judy knit and embellished fashion doll clothes from remnants of her silk handspun.

Judy displayed bookmarks woven in intricate double weave pickup.

The spinners have decided to meet the last Monday of the month.
